For the first Alamo Drafthouse theater in the District, exterior facades were a crucial component of reinforcing positive public sentiment around a known brand. FlexFacades was engaged by the project architect during the design phase to provide design-assist and engineering of a custom parking garage facade. We also worked closely with the structural engineer on the layout of the steel outriggers that protrude through the stucco facade to ensure the steel FlexFacades frame integrated correctly. The resulting 8,000-square-foot facade has the look and feel of metal mesh, but at significant savings not only for the initial construction but also the life-cycle costs.
