The Iowa Utilities Board and Office of Consumer Advocate is a two-wing infill development on the State of Iowa Capitol Complex in downtown Des Moines. Designed by BNIM, the award-winning, LEED-certified building is 81% more energy efficient than the average office building. FlexFacades engineered, fabricated and installed vertical tensile mesh fins that reduce heat and solar gain, while allowing enough daylight to come into the building that 98% of the building can keep the lights off during daylight hours.

Slotted facade fins sat on a building with the fins perpendicular to the surface to allow for maximum daylight to enter the space.
