The SoBro Tower Garage adds 500 parking spaces to the increasingly more populated Lower Broadway entertainment district of downtown Nashville, Tennessee. The garage wraps around the base of SoBro Tower, a 313-unit luxury residential building. To ensure the garage was as visually interesting as the surrounding neighborhood buildings, FlexFacades designed, engineered, fabricated, and installed a tensile mesh facade screening. The aluminum-framed, coated PES mesh panels are arranged in a design of alternating angles with custom steel standoffs to provide a sense of depth and a recognizable landmark from a distance. The tensile facade also reduces solar gain, maintains ventilation for an open garage, and screens light pollution from cars inside the garage.
